What is "Plugging In"?
It's a universal desire to want to do something meaningful with our lives, and yet it is rare to find the opportunity or tools to figure out how we do that. The Plugged In philosophy is an approach I've created to empower a tribe of people who seek a deeper connection in their lives, to explore who they are beneath the surface and how they can build their lives around this connection.
"From my experience with Allie & her Plugged In process, I gained:
1) Greater self-awareness: I'm far more conscious of my own behavior, doing things that give me energy and recognizing my weaknesses and faults.
2) Focus on Values & Strengths: I'd known about most of my values & strengths before, but now I actively bring them into my life on a daily basis.
3) Direction toward my next big project: At this point I'm almost haunted by what I know I want to do with my life. I feel more clear than I've ever been on what I want to be working on."

Plugged In is an immersive philosophy that integrates the disciples of mindfulness, self discovery, emotional intelligence, and innovation + design to offer a new way to understand yourself and your life's path. These concepts are taught through experiential learning spaces where you are asked to connect with who you are at your core, and be held accountable to taking action with that insight.
"Doing so much reflection on what brings me energy, and what values I respect, and incorporating all that into a personal compass, will definitely change my life in many ways in the next year and for the rest of my life. My personal compass will allow me to articulate why I chase after certain opportunities and pass up on others, where I need to work on putting up healthy boundaries and where I need to work on being more open and courageous. That kind of wisdom is invaluable in making big life decisions and building the life that you want, day after day."

My motivation:
When I graduated from college I co-founded a startup called weBike, which I was certain would be my lifelong career. After five years of epic passion, commitment and lessons learned, we folded the company. I was devastated and lost.
As the storm of failure and utter disarray started to pass, I felt more committed than ever to figure out what I was meant to do with my life. All I ever wanted was something that made me feel alive and like I was contributing to the world. I was certain it was possible.
So I started began to work with a coach, I took self-development classes, I devoured books, attended conferences, seminars, picked up meditation, and found mentors. Piece by piece, I saw a much clearer picture of who I truly was inside and what I had to give to others. I combined this insight with all the tools and attitudes I had used to start a company, and my path became real.
It turns out, there is a process to answering the question - 'what do I do with my life?' after all.
The Plugged In philosophy is the culmination of my journey and the most authentic expression of what I have learned to be true. Through the program, I combine all of my past experience - from starting a company (which guess what, is a similar process to 'creating' your life), to investing in my own personal growth, to teaching Design Thinking at the University of Maryland, and working on entrepreneurial leadership at at Netcito and The Entrepreneur's Organization ... all this comes together in this one, blended kaleidoscope.
The Plugged In experience is about committing to, and investing in path to unearth who you truly are and embrace the exploration of building a life around that wisdom. It is the journey of your lifetime.
Come on and join me; let's plug in.
